"The Case for God" has Arrived

I have recently received a review copy of Karen Armstrong's The Case for God in the mail and will be starting to read it tonight with an eye towards getting a review up sometime in the next week. After just having finished a horror book about religion (The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power by Jeff Sharlet) I am looking forward to reading about a much more positive way of looking at it!

I just got it from the library, and I'm about 50 pages into it. It is definitely a positive, and practical, look at religion.

I, too, am enjoying Armstrong's new book The Case for God. Another fascinating book of hers is the biography she wrote called The Bible. Also, Harvey Cox released a new book called The Future of Faith which is excellent. I think that I profit the most by authors who aren't afraid to say "I don't know for sure." I guess I could also say that that phrase probably best represents my whole attitude towrad spiritual matters, and thankfully, it doesn't bar me from participating. Actually, the whole idea of Mystery seems to thrust me into "God" more than anything I can think of.
